Part of an experiment in low expense production jewelry, the necessity of cheap, fast, and simple techniques led to rapid prototyping a vector design by laser cutting. This process enabled me to create duplicate pieces that I finish treated with a powder coating that plasticized the wood.

as a matter of fact, i put a big gauge in one of the cutting edges of my side cutters with this stuff, and they were really expensive pliers too :doh:

I am not sure who manufactures it, but the School of Architecture and Urban Planning and my university has both a laser cutter and a 3d modeler fro rapid prototyping; very cool machines.
